With Shackles Removed, The Real Fight To End Abortion is Just Getting Started!
Washington, D.C.: “The March for Life activities in our nation’s capital today have been wonderful,” said Phyllis Schlafly Eagles president Ed Martin. “Thousands and thousands of people have gathered, and the spirit of this event is more jubilant than I’m sure many of us even imagined. Roe is defeated! The legal shackles, the unfair advantage for the abortion industry, have been removed and now is the time to move forward with all speed and strength on behalf of women in crisis and children in the womb.”
Martin continued, “I hope and pray that all conservatives and pro-life advocates will unite behind good legal and legislative plans as well as the brave state officials who will put them in place. The fight just begins in earnest now and we are all needed. Today we celebrate, but we must be immediately at the work.”
We were pleased to share the celebration today with some incredible pro-life advocates and their teams. Phyllis Schlafly Eagles was pleased to march alongside and host Bridget VanMeans of ThriVe Nation, Nikki Schaefer of Heart of a Child Ministries, and Karen Garnett of the National Prayer Luncheon for Life.
“These incredible women lead groups that have touched the lives of countless young women in crisis and saved many thousands of unborn lives,” Martin said. “We are proud to partner with them as in this work and I was so grateful to celebrate victory with them today as we put Roe to rest. Now, the next phase of work begins in earnest!”
Martin concluded, “It’s a fitting day to also celebrate such a win in Florida. A federal judge today upheld Florida Governor DeSantis’s suspension of a leftwing state attorney who refused to uphold Florida’s abortion ban signed last April. It’s going to take bold action from our state leaders and rock-solid jurisprudence to fight these battles.
“It’s time to turn our grassroots activist attention to every state, and be fueled into the fight by this the victory celebration! It’s time to advance in defense of our most fundamental God-given right. It’s time to end the abortion industry that preys on young women once and for all.”
