EU unveils first uniformed border force

- THE FOX HOLE - Jan 11, 2021 -

EU border force, Frontex, will become the first European agency to don an official EU uniform in the bloc’s latest step towards deeper integration.

In a rather creepy video that wouldn’t look out of place in a dystopian fiction flick, the European Border and Coast Guard standing corps revealed its new attire which will be worn “to represent the European Union at its borders.”

The European Border and Coast Guard, also known as Frontex, is headquartered in the Polish capital of Warsaw and tasked with protecting the external border of European Union member states within the Schengen area.

There will undoubtedly be concern among many that this is the latest step towards the European Union developing its own unified military force, something French President Emmanuel Macron called for in November 2018.

The French leader said an EU army was needed to protect Europe from: “China, Russia and even the United States of America.”
