Donald Trump Wins Texas Abortion Lawsuit…Here’s How He Did It

- THE PATRIOT PAPERS - SEP 15, 2021 -

Texas conservatives took a “remember the Alamo” stance against liberals who thought it was high time to change the state’s strict abortion laws. They made a big enough splash to halt the laws for a week while SCOTUS mulled their request over, but ultimately, the tsunami they were hoping to create headed back out to the Gulf of Mexico and the seas are once again calm.

But this is not to imply they didn’t make a splash of a sizeable proportion. Everything is bigger in Texas. SCOTUS reached their conclusion to allow the laws to stand on a skimpy 5-4 vote. They’re deeply divided on an issue they say has not come to an end.

More challenges are certain to follow, and just as with this case, SCOTUS will be compelled to review them as separate unto themselves by ignoring any residual biases that might have hung around from the never-ending stack of previous challenges they’ve heretofore been forced to take a look-see at.

Signed into law just this past May by Republican Gov. Gregg Abbott, Texas has enacted the strictest abortion laws in the nation since Roe v. Wade. The moment a cardiac technician detects a heartbeat, all bets are off. Generally speaking, this happens around six weeks into the pregnancy, which in most cases is before a woman even realizes one of those tiny sperm cells kicked a field goal.

On a larger scale, Texas is leading the nationwide Republican push to tighten up on using abortion as a method of birth control. Twelve states have tried to do what Texas just accomplished and they all got their faces rubbed in liberal dirt. You can bet they’re taking notes and watching Texas like buzzards around a carcass to see how the immediate future unfolds.

The Supreme Court’s final order read, “In reaching this conclusion, we stress that we do not purport to resolve definitively any jurisdictional or substantive claim in the applicants’ lawsuit. In particular, this order is not based on any conclusion about the constitutionality of Texas’s law, and in no way limits other procedurally proper challenges to the Texas law, including in Texas state courts.”

Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the three liberals to give them the four votes that still fell short. Of the outcome, he said that “the Court’s order is emphatic in making clear that it cannot be understood as sustaining the constitutionality of the law at issue.”

Justice Sonia Sotomayor said she was “stunned” by the conservative’s vote. Her statement read, “Presented with an application to enjoin a flagrantly unconstitutional law engineered to prohibit women from exercising their constitutional rights and evade judicial scrutiny, a majority of Justices have opted to bury their heads in the sand.”

Liberals will keep on pushing the same as they always have for what they consider to be the rights of women who know how to prevent unwanted pregnancy but choose not to. They’d rather save their choice until after the fact when cleaning thing up requires disposing of a child that’ll never meet who would have been their mom.
