Afghan national on FBI terror watchlist apprehended near San Diego border

From October to March, at least 70 foreign nationals on the terrorist watchlist have been apprehended by agents at the U.S. border. Officials confirmed over the weekend that an Afghan national on the FBI terror watchlist was taken into custody at the border near San Diego last week.

“San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond said the arrest took place Wednesday after the Afghani attempted to cross the border alongside a group of migrants near Otay Mesa just days before the expiration of the Trump-era Title 42 policy” reports Just The News.

On Monday, this publication reported that just last Friday, four men on the terror watch list were apprehended at separate times throughout one single day at the U.S. border’s Tucson, Arizona sector. The Afghani terrorist was apprehended only two days earlier, states away, near San Diego, California.

“This should serve as a stark reminder to President Biden and the Federal Government on the critical need for maintaining a strong border,” Desmond added.

Rep Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said President Joe Biden and his policies are to blame for the latest terrorist capture:

“Biden’s open borders aren’t just a gateway to 5 million illegals, record human and child trafficking, and the deadliest drug crisis in our history. Biden’s reckless policy is also an open invitation to even the most wanted terrorists in the world to come to America.”
