AMERICA OUT LOUD - Peter Breggin MD & Ginger Breggin - FEB 9, 2023
With the newly elected House of Representatives in possession of a Republican majority, we anticipate many committees and hearings will examine the Deep States’ implementation of COVID-19 policies and practices during both the administrations of Donald Trump and Joe Biden. This report suggests a series of questions that can be addressed to senior government officials as well as to the most senior one of all, Anthony Fauci.
There is a seminal fact that has been ignored in previous hearings: Joint U.S. and Chinese research played a key role in creating SARS-CoV-2. In 2015, a published research paper demonstrated a close tie between Chinese and American researchers collaborating to make SARS-CoV viruses through gain-of-function research. Our political representatives need to be looking into and bringing to light these tragic, treasonous events, their consequences, and any continuing collaborations with China that endanger U.S. security.
The Blockbuster 2015 Scientific Paper
In 2015 a paper was published in the prestigious scientific journal Nature in which top U.S. researchers and top Wuhan Institute Chinese Communist researchers were working together developing new SARS-CoV viruses, and it was funded in part by Fauci’s NIAID. The paper is:
Vineet D Menachery, Boyd L Yount Jr, Kari Debbink1, Sudhakar Agnihothram, Lisa E Gralinski, Jessica A Plante, Rachel L Graham, Trevor Scobey, Xing-Yi Ge, Eric F Donaldson, Scott H Randell, Antonio Lanzavecchia, Wayne A Marasco, Zhengli-Li Shi & Ralph S Baric. (2015) A SARS-like cluster of circulating bat coronaviruses shows potential for human emergence. Nature Medicine, 21 (12), 1508-1514. December 2015. With a follow-up letter included, the article is available at: https://www.nature.com/articles/nm.3985
Not only was this research in the 2015 paper an exact example of “gain-of-function” research, but the authors also openly wonder in the text of the paper if it might be illegal research.
Here are the complete acknowledgments for the paper, modified by unsigned authorities after we exposed and criticized it:
Research in this manuscript was supported by grants from the National Institute of Allergy & Infectious Disease and the National Institute of Aging of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (N.I.H.) under awards U19AI109761 (R.S.B.), U19AI107810 (R.S.B.), AI085524 (W.A.M.), F32AI102561 (V.D.M.) and K99AG049092 (V.D.M.), and by the National Natural Science Foundation of China awards 81290341 (Z.-L.S.) and 31470260 (X.-Y.G.), and by USAID-EPT-PREDICT funding from EcoHealth Alliance (Z.-L.S.). Human airway epithelial cultures were supported by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease of the N.I.H. under award NIH DK065988 (S.H.R.). We also thank M.T. Ferris (Dept. of Genetics, University of North Carolina) for the reviewing of statistical approaches and C.T. Tseng (Dept. of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Texas Medical Branch) for providing Calu-3 cells. Experiments with the full-length and chimeric SHC014 recombinant viruses were initiated and performed before the G.O.F. research funding pause and have since been reviewed and approved for continued study by the N.I.H. The content is solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily represent the official views of the N.I.H.
It is astonishing that with so many people involved in this research project — multiple authors and their institutions, and multiple sources of financial support — that no one drew it to public attention until we did in March and April 2020. See question 5 below for the results of our sending this information to Donald Trump’s inner circle.
A Follow-Up 2016 Paper Confirms U.S./Chinese Collaboration on Making Deadly Spike Protein
A follow-up research paper was published in 2016 by the same American research team. In their Acknowledgements to the 2016 paper, the authors thank the “Bat Lady” of Communist China, Zhengli-Li Shi, an author on the first paper, for sending them materials to help make the spike protein. The Americans and the Chinese were working together, making deadly spike proteins and attaching them to bat viruses. Here is that paper:
Vineet D Menachery, Boyd L Yount Jr, Amy C Sims, Kari Debbink, Sudhakar S Agnihoth-ram, Lisa E Gralinski, Rachel L Graham, Trevor Scobey, Jessica A Plante, Scott R Royal, Jesica Swanstrom, Timothy P Sheahan, Raymond J Pickles, Davide Corti, Scott H Randell, Antonio Lanzavecchia, Wayne A Marasco, Ralph S Baric. Here is the relevant part of the Acknowledgements:
We thank Dr. Zhengli-Li Shi of the Wuhan Institute of Virology for access to bat CoV sequences and plasmid of WIV1-CoV spike protein. Research was supported by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease and the National Institute of Aging of the N.I.H. under Awards U19AI109761 and U19AI107810 (to R.S.B.), AI1085524 (to W.A.M.), and F32AI102561 and K99AG049092 (to V.D.M.)
Suggested questions on gain-of-function collaborations with the Chinese Communists when the new Congress examines Dr. Fauci and other senior officials
> 1. Why were Dr. Fauci and other senior government officials funding Chinese and American collaborations making deadly SARS-CoV viruses in both U.S. and Chinese labs?
> 2. How could Dr. Fauci and others deny that SARS-CoV viruses were being made in Chinese and American labs at the time of the outbreak in China.
> 3. How could he claim and others that SARS-CoV definitely came from nature, when SARS-CoVs were being produced in American labs under Dr. Fauci’s funding?
> 4. Why didn’t Dr. Fauci or other officials produce the articles to Congress and admit NIAID and N.I.H. were funding research involving the U.S. and the Chinese in making deadly protein spikes, as noted in the Acknowledgements to the 2016 paper?
> 5. Researchers Peter R. Breggin MD and Ginger Breggin blew the whistle on this gain-of-function research in mid-April 2020 and sent their column and video to contacts near to President Donald Trump. A day or two later, President Trump announced he was canceling any NIAID funding of projects with the Chinese Communists. What kinds of collaborations are still going on? How was it possible — and is it still possible — for such collaborations to continue in multiple other arenas that could weaken our defenses and strengthen China’s capacity to make war?
> 6. Wasn’t Fauci funding potential biological weapons for the Communists? Isn’t that treasonous? Has anyone investigated this?
> 7. In regard to the commentary at the end of the 2015 article, and whether it was gain-of-function, by whom and by what method was it retrospectively “approved for continued study by the N.I.H.” Were Dr. Fauci or the authors of the paper involved in this decision? Was President Trump informed about it — especially in light of his canceling the funding of the collaboration with the Chinese?
An Offer to Congress
We would be happy to donate our book, coauthored with Ginger Breggin, COVID-19, and the Global Predators: We Are the Prey, to any committees or members of Congress. Our book has already sold 120,000 copies and is considered by many experts, such as Peter A. McCullough, MD, M.P.H., and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., to be the deepest dive into the forces behind COVID-19 policies and practices. Chapter 29 of our book is titled “Bill of Particulars Against Dr. Anthony Fauci” and draws on my years of experience writing hundreds of reports and testifying in court, including against the pharmaceutical industry.
